Every now and again an artist comes along that you just can’t pigeon hole, an artist that thinks and performs outside the box, an artist that dares to be different, an artist that you can’t shackle. Jazze (pronounce Jhayze) is just that kind of artist. Jazze is uniquely original vocally, musically and lyrically and offers something that world has been crying out for. All you have to do is listen to the jaw dropping lyrical content of her tracks like “So Good Inside” for example to see that this amazing woman isn’t scared to deal with real issues that females of the world are dealing with every day of their lives in a positive and reflective manor. The album delves into relationships, love, female empowerment, going out and enjoying yourself and more. One of the UK’s leading music magazines B&S commented on an exclusive play back of the album “I am not saying Jazze is trying to be like Sade, because Jazze like Sade has her own unique sound and style… But this is the kind of album that if Sade came out for the first time today you would expect it to be of this kind of style and quality”, BBC Radio 2 said “this is cutting edge adult contemporary music of the highest quality”.

Jazze is no stranger to the Music Industry, she first had the taste of recording success when together with her sister Romi they formed the pop act Romi & Jazz and become one of the first Asian acts to be signed to a major label in the UK, as they put pen to paper with Chrysalis Records. They were also one of the first Asian acts to gain Chart success in the UK that included being Number 1 in the dance charts, they worked with some of pops biggest names at the time Stock Aitken & Waterman and David Morales for example. They received critical claim from major press such as the Independent and The Guardian, they also featured on prime-time TV like Good Morning Britain with Lorraine Kelly for example. The project was put on hold when Jazze’s sister Romi got married and started a family and in 2018 there will be a documentary commissioned by the BBC on how the sisters and other acts brought their unique sound to mainstream radio and TV in the UK.

So, after a long sabbatical from music Jazze picked up her passion for writing again. Born in Nairobi to Indian parents Jazze moved to the UK at a young age. The multi-cultural influences in her life comes shining through in her music. Jazze gained the interest of American multiplatinum producer Herb Middleton who has worked with the likes of Mary J Blige and Usher to name a few of the many. Herb’s interest was gained after he heard her voice on the underground R&B anthem from the R&B pop group 2Klose “Tell Me”, a track that Herb remixed. Over the next 18 months they wrote several tracks together, as well as Jazze writing tracks on her own. Whilst writing with Herb he suggested they should record an album together and the rest is history as they say. The album has been eagerly awaited by some of the biggest independent labels in the world after they was given a sneak preview via Midem last year.

News & Biogs

So often in this day and age the word genius is bounded around far to easily, but in this case this man has proven consistently over the past 20 plus years that he is just that … a musical genius. There are many people that can individually produce individual genres such as Soul, R&B, Hip Hop, Jazz, Pop, but how many producers can produce all of those genres in equally breathtaking high quality.

Not just a multi platinum producer Herb Middleton is a multi Grammy nominated producer and songwriter. Herb Middleton’s list of artists he has worked with reads like a who’s who in Soul, Hip Hop and R&B music Mary J Blige, Bobby Brown, SWV, Brownstone, The Sounds Of Blackness, Changing Faces, Faith Evans, Usher, Al Green, Ann Nesby, Total, Kelly Price, Freddie Jackson, Raheem DeVaughn, Kenny Lattimore, 4 Kast, Melba Moore, Jeffrey Osbourne, Will Smith, Nas, Big Bub, Jazzy Jeff, Notorious BIG, Phyllis Hyman, Christopher Williams, Black Men United, Teddy Pendergrass to name a few of the many.

He took a sabbatical from music for a few years in his own words “because I felt like the quality had been drained from the music I am so passionate about”. But now he is back with a collection of new music and he personally vows that his best work is yet to come. On the evidence on this new music he has been working on who can argue with that statement.

Herb has a series of artist albums, compilations and singles coming in 2018... Watch this space !!!
