DANIEL SPILLER & THE BROKEN RECORD PROJECT
Every now and again along comes a group that isn't just special, talented and equal to anything that is out there, but they could actually change the face of the music world as we know it. Daniel Spiller & The Broken Record Project is just that kind of act with their breathtakingly original sound of guitar based music with the addition of violins they are something very special and very unique. Virtually the entire debut album is self written and produced (barring one cover version), this word gets used all too often these days but these guys are true musical geniuses.
Its been an amazing couple of years for Daniel Spiller & The Broken Record Project. Having already received airplay and interviewed by radio stations such as BBC Radio London, Xtreme and Capital Radio as well as radio stations in Spain, Italy, Holland and South Africa. They already have a platform of fans to build a huge fan base on. Live performances at the Nozstock Festival, plus sell out shows at renowned venues such as The Borderline, Café de Paris, Troubadour, Red Rooms, Madame Jo Jo's, The Underbelly and The Bedford in the UK as well as live appearances across Spain, South Africa and Italy including headlining a huge Spanish festival alongside The Wutang Clans Ghostface Killah simply adds more strength this amazing bands credentials. The end of 2010 see the group complete 30 sell out shows in a row, it also saw Radio 2 start to get behind the act with spot plays on some key shows and with their stunning debut single "Everything" being released in Spring 2011 and the video receiving just under 30,000 hits on You Tube in a month it shows what a hit this track is and the popularity of this amazing band.
Together Daniel Spiller and his fellow band members The Broken Record Project are a fully functioning contemporary group comprising of Dani Mourinho on bass, Hezron Chetty on violin, Mauro Pes on piano, Marc Ross on drums and Daniel Spiller on lead vocals and guitar. The band is based in London but with group members from England, Holland, Italy, South Africa and Spain this group are as cosmopolitan as London itself. Live performances, touring the UK and gigs across Europe have been instrumental in creating the unique sound the band possesses, bringing together the musical ideas and personalities of the band and you have all the ingredients that make this group stand out in a crowded market place.
